  • Visitor Experience Coordinator

    Job Title: Visitor Experience Coordinator (Operations)

    Position Summary:
    As the first point of contact and overseer of daily operations, the Visitor Experience Coordinator sets the tone for a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment. This role combines high level, warm customer service with hands on facility management, ensuring the museum is spotless, functional, and efficient.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Director of First Impressions (Front of House): Greet visitors with a warm, welcoming demeanor, setting a positive tone for their visit.
    • Visitor Services: As a member of the staff work with other team members, volunteers, and service members to ensure top-tier guest service, handling inquiries, gift shop sales, and membership check-ins efficiently.
    • Operational Excellence: Oversee daily opening and closing procedures, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and handle cash reconciliation.
    • Safety & Cleanliness: Ensure the museum floor, exhibits, and assigned areas are clean, safe, and fully functional. Cordinate and notify appropriate personnel if there are any broken exhibits.
    • Programming Support: Assist in coordinating logistics for birthday parties, field trips, and special events.
    • Conflict Resolution: Resolve visitor complaints or issues promptly.

    Required Qualifications & Skills:

    • Experience: Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or high-volume visitor attraction management (children’s museum experience a plus).
    • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for working with children and families.
    • Flexibility: Ability to work weekends and holidays.

    Requirements:

    • Ability to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs to assist with exhibits or event setups.
    • Must pass background check.

    This position is vital in ensuring that every visitors first and last impression is one of curiosity, cleanliness, and care.

  • Education Programs Coordinator (Field Trips & Camps)

    Job Title: Education Programs Coordinator 

    Position Summary:
    The Science Zone is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Education Programs Coordinator to lead and grow our Field Trip and Camp programs. This role oversees program development, scheduling, staff coordination, community partnerships, and select outreach and fundraising activities. The position plays a key role in expanding the Field Trip & Camp business segment while delivering high-quality educational experiences.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and coordinate field trip programs aligned with the organizational mission and educational standards
    • Manage field trip bookings and communication using Sawyer
    • Train and support staff delivering field trip lessons
    • Develop and oversee Summer, Winter, and Spring Break camps (themes, lesson plans, schedules, pricing)
    • Serve as primary point of contact for camp planning and execution
    • Support marketing efforts for camps and programs
    • Build and maintain partnerships with schools, community groups, donors, and vendors
    • Lead outreach and community education events
    • Assist with grants and funding opportunities related to education programs
    • Track billing, reporting, and program goals

    Required Qualifications & Skills:

    • Passion for education and youth programming
    • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
    • Experience with educational programs, camps, or field trips
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively

    Schedule & Work Environment:

    • Primarily based at The Science Zone in Casper, WY
    • Occasional local/state travel
    • Some evenings and weekends required for camps, outreach, and events

    The Science Zone in Casper is currently recruiting AmeriCorps members to serve in our education program. AmeriCorps members will help provide educational programming in classrooms, in before and after school programs, community outreach activities and summer camps. Members will have flexible scheduling options and will be provided with training, a monthly living stipend, and an education award upon completion. Housing assistance is available.
