Code @ The Zone

Learn about computer science in a fun, playful environment! Code @ The Zone offers a variety of classes, each focusing on different, specialized areas of tech.

Additionally, each class offers two levels. Level 1 is designed for beginners and students who are new to Code @ The Zone. Level 2 is designed for learners who are experienced and looking to continue to advance their skills.

The spring semester starts the week of January 13, 2026, and runs to the week of May 26, 2026.

Art and Innovation

Get creative with tech at Art and Innovation! This class provides the skills and inspiration to transform your ideas into reality. Learn to use 3D printers and design software, use digital tools to produce music, express your creativity through animation, and learn the elements behind game design! Dive in and discover the endless possibilities of tech-driven creativity.

Art and Innovation takes place every Tuesday.

Level 1: 4pm - 5pm

Level 2: 5:15pm - 6:15pm

Level 1 is recommended for beginners and students who are new to Code @ The Zone. Ages 8 - 14.

Level 2 is recommended for learners who are experienced and looking to continue to advance their skills. Ages 9 - 15.

Robot & Drone Engineers

Hands-on engineering and programming projects with robots and drones await! Become a Robot Engineer with LEGO robots, and a drone engineer by learning drone safety, flight mechanics, and earning a recreational drone license. Join us in Robot & Drone Engineers and soar to new heights with your robotic and aerospace engineering skills!

Robot & Drone Engineers takes place every Wednesday.
Level 1: 4pm - 5pm
Level 2: 5:15pm - 6:15pm

Beyond Block Coding: Python and More

Join Beyond Block Coding: Python and More to elevate your programming skills! Start text-based coding by learning relevant skills such as Python and web design. Whether you're looking to advance your current skills or simply ready for a new challenge, Beyond Block Coding: Python and More provides the perfect environment to push your coding knowledge further.

Beyond Block Coding takes place every Thursday.
Level 1: 4pm - 5pm
Level 2: 5:15pm - 6:15pm

Level 2 is recommended for learners who are experienced and looking to continue to advance their skills. Ages 11 - 15.

Code JR

Introduce your young ones to the excitement of coding with Code JR, a fun and engaging way to learn foundational coding skills through a variety of age-appropriate activities. Learn and play with robotics, code video games, and more! At Code JR, kids will experience the thrill of computer science in a supportive, playful environment.

Code JR takes place every Thursday.
Level 1: 4pm - 5pm
Level 2: 5:15pm - 6:15pm

Level 1 is recommended for beginners and students who are new to Code @ The Zone. Ages 5 - 8.

Level 2 is recommended for learners who are experienced and looking to continue to advance their skills. Ages 7 - 9.

Pricing:

Code @ The Zone is offered at $75/month. If you register for multiple classes, you will receive a discounted rate.

Meet your Instructors

Jess McIntyre:
Jess is passionate and excited about computer science and technology education. For three years, they taught computer science and other STEM-related concepts at Code Ninjas, and have been with The Science Zone since January 2024. Jess took every computer science class at Kelly Walsh High School and several Casper College classes before graduation in 2023. They love computer science, technology, and problem-solving.

Michele Wistisen:
Michele is a board member of The Science Zone and the past director of the Casper Planetarium. She ran the Jr. Coding Club at Code Ninjas in Casper, is a wealth of science knowledge, and is an extraordinary asset to our program and our community.
