In 2003, Congress dedicated April 25 as National DNA Day to celebrate the anniversary of the Human Genome Project's completion (2003) and the anniversary of the discovery of the DNA double helix (1953). On April 27 at Family STEAM Night, we will recognize some of the historical achievements while learning about the structure of DNA. We will extract DNA from fruits, make a DNA 'monster', create a DNA sequence out of candy, and more!
