Science Zone Coding Students Earn their TRUST Licenses

Science Zone Coding Students Earn their TRUST Licenses

The students at Code @ The Zone have worked hard and have successfully earned their TRUST Drone licenses! This ambitious license grants them legal permission to fly drones recreationally in public spaces. They spent just over a week and a half preparing for the exam, dedicating one hour to each session, which is the same length as a regular class. On exam day, they completed the test in about 40 minutes, passing with flying colors. In order to pass and earn the license, students have to get a score of 100% on the exam.

If your child would like to join The Science Zone’s coding program and obtain their license, there is still time left in the semester to register!

"The Science Zone team is so proud of the Code @ The Zone students," says Jess McIntyre, our Technology Educator. "Their hard work and passion have paid off, and this achievement is a big step in their coding journey."

At The Science Zone, we offer a variety of hands-on coding classes designed to spark curiosity and build essential technical skills. Our programs cater to different interests, including cybersecurity, game design, and Robotics. Whether your child is new to coding or looking to test out their skills, Code @ The Zone provides the tools and knowledge students need to thrive in today’s tech-driven world.

“What a great opportunity for students in the Casper community,” says Science Zone team member, Raven Howard. “The coding classrooms are often busy with kids growing skills in various computer sciences. Each day we offer a different type of focus where kids can grow their knowledge and gain new skills.”

Code @ The Zone will be offered in a recurring, sign-up format held Monday through Thursday from 4:00 to 5:00 PM. Additionally, we offer an optional independent study session from 5:00 to 6:00 PM, which also requires prior sign-up. If your child falls outside the listed age range, please feel free to contact our educator at jess.mcintyre@thesciencezone.org to discuss possible exceptions. Each day features a different coding class, offering a fresh and exciting topic to explore. For more details, be sure to visit our website!
